As snow melts away, trash returns to schedule

After months of heavy snow and harsh weather, it appears that spring is finally on its way. For many garbagemen and waste companies throughout the Northeast, trash pick up has been difficult through the past couple months.

With snow burying trash bags on the sides of roads and keeping trash trucks off the road, many towns had their waste pick up schedule delayed. Now, as the snow continues to slowly but surely melt away, trash bags are still being discovered under the dirty snow.

A Boston Globe article published earlier this month outlines how the city of Boston is filthy after the historic snow fall this winter.

“After this unparalleled and unprecedented storm, the city is very dirty and we have to clean it up,’’ said Councilor Matt O’Malley in the article.

It is not only big cities like Boston that are being piled in snow this fall but also small towns in the north east. With snow melting and warmer weather on the way, it appears that it is time to begin the clean up.
